Time have changed when nearly all WAP-enabled/browser phones require a data plan to go with without burning a huge hole in your pocket and giving you the accessibility to the internet while on your move.3/31/2009 02:20:00 pm wsquare 0 Comments
For now, 50GB seems like unlimited for me since you can't be downloading movies and such on your mobile. It may be insufficient when time comes for quality streaming. When will that be?

Lately I've been troubled by contractual price plans. I cannot recall how frequent the telcos in Singapore have revamped its mobile price plans to stay competitive ahead.3/31/2009 11:27:00 am wsquare 0 Comments
No not that they are not attractive enough. But i felt succumbed to taking in the benefits at first glance. Are they really that alluring as compared to the plans that were previously? How do they stand if they were compared with its competitors?
Pouring over the google eyes gave me near-zero results of past price plans other than old chat threads of users lamenting on price plans, as usual.
I hope this post will serve useful maybe few years later.
For now, I shall start with M1 - on its current Sunsaver Series Plan, and its Take3 package
M1 Sunsaver Series Price Plan
-SunLite (new)
-Sunsaver
-Sunsaver Plus
-Sunmax
Apparently, unlimited free calls to 3m1 numbers is subjected to a period limitation as highlighted in its conditions
- Unlimited Free Calls to 3 M1 Numbers is valid till 31 December 2011, and applies to local voice calls only. A $10.70 administrative charge applies for every change of the 3 M1 numbers.
Sunshare Package
Ultimatum : Talk All U Can Plan
The best, though i'm still skeptical as i remembered few years back, if you were an old-time loyal user with a couple of lines, you are entitled to further bill discount. Not sure when it stops, but now I know it's back.
Best User-Feedback D.I.Y Plan
As M1 advertisement says it all, they truely listened to its subscriber needs and whizzed up a D.I.Y plan that caters to the needs of everyone, though you might end up paying more as compared to a standardized plan with nearly the same features.
Multi-Line Saver Scheme For Attractors
- M1 Multi-Line Saver: Customers are eligible for M1 Multi-Line Saver when they subscribe to a minimum of three M1 postpaid lines on Free Incoming Calls plans or Mobile Broadband plans, under the same NRIC/FIN number and will enjoy a discount as listed on the table above on the monthly subscription of the eligible service plans, excluding value-added services and/or usage charges. The discount will be applied monthly on eligible active service plans which are not suspended/terminated, during the billing period for the respective bills to which the discount applies. M1 Multi-Line Saver is not applicable to M1 Enterprise customers, M1 Enterprise Mobile/Broadband plans and customers registered under government groups.
Up to now, there are no data plan that are packaged as a plan altogether for M1. You have to sign up separately.

I have a weird fascination for flyers, brochures - or basically papers of all sorts, as they are usually replete with promotion, information or graphics. I enjoyed keeping them, but also frustrated at times of the thoughts of storing them, which ultimately would end up in my trashbing.3/15/2009 02:58:00 pm wsquare 0 Comments
With the advent of technology, there is no borders to what you can do with it. I can archive them digitally and store it. But why would I want to store it, if it is of no value ?
I enjoys collecting and referring to friends. That is one main value which is able to lead me on for the mundane & laborious scanning & digitalizing. And it helps environmentally too. You don't have to take multiple copies and give it away. Post it online, and everyone gets to see the same leaflet.
If you have such strange hobby like me, do feel free to contribute & send in your digitalized flyers here, together with some information such as
1. country
2. location of fair,exhibit etc
I'll be glad to showcast them online, provided there is no infringe in intellectual property. I do not wish to be brushed by the laws.
For now, as I am stationed in Singapore, my flyers would majority of Singapore content.

Anyway, if you are a sound candy, you might have come across the brand - Boston, from USA. Two products worth a real listen are : Horizon I-DS and Horizon Duo-i
Apparently Horizon I-DS is going for a promo price of SGD 209, while Horizon Duo-i is going at 279 with a free headset.

Apart from those 802.11n routers being as the mainstream, what is more attractive is to see the3/14/2009 10:47:00 pm wsquare 0 Comments
1. cheap proliferation of media storage hubs
2. dual-broad band of 802.11g to maximize surfing as well as internal media streaming
In fact, there are already China-made media hubs that depend solely on external hdds plugged in for streaming to Tv, and with additional support for RMVB file formats. If you are drama-lovers, you would probably find majority of your drama files in RMVB format!
Linksys Mediahub centre allows remote access of your media storage files which is great. And hooks on to your network backbone to acts as your home media storage centre. It does has a good user interface to come with. Price has fallen sharply too for the media hubs, which i believe is tied together with the harddisk prices too.
